Brimfly
BRIMFLY

HOOK: #10 Aberdeen
THREAD: Black nylon
BODY: Chenille of desired color
LEGS: Black rubber hackle
WING: White craft fur

This fly is featured in the Fly Tyer’s Pattern Bible as tied by Gary R. Yaden. The only substitution has been in the wing, replacing gray squirrel tail fibers with white craft fur. The fly is tied simply: Tie on the thread, wrap to the bend of the hook. Tie in chenille. Advance thread to just short of the eye. Wrap the chenille forward and tie off and trim excess. Wrap the thread back to the middle of the chenille and tie in four pieces of black rubber hackle as legs. Wrap thread forward and tie in wing of craft fur. Finish head and add head cement.
